Students in Materials Science & Engineering graduate degree programs are required to satisfy the following grade level requirements:

Overall GPA for all graduate courses:   3.00 minimum

Grades in five Core Courses:            B in each

Required ESL Courses                    B in each

Grade in ESM 501                        S

Grade in ESM 697                        S

Grade in ESM  698                       S

Grade in all research courses,          S
ESM 599 & 699                            

Students who earn a grade of U in ESM 501, 599, 697, 698 or 699 are considered on probation, and may be dismissed by the Program. Students whose overall GPA falls below 3.00 are placed on probation and may be dismissed by the Graduate School.
