- Q:
I have a problem with blah-blah...?
- A:
No problem, we are willing to help. But,
before you come to the Graduate Program Director (D. Gersappe),
please do the following:
- Collect all documentation
- Transcript
- Petition
- Letter from professor
- Add/Drop sheet
- etc.......
- Clearly think out your problem, before you state the problem.
As engineers you will need to develop information, and
then be able to accurately and tersely present the information.
- Q:
Who is the Graduate Program Director (GPD)?
- A:
Right now, it is Prof. Gersappe. He is in room 316.
- Q:
Who is the Graduate Program Secretary (GPS)?
- A:
That would be Deb Michienzi. She is in room 314.
- Q:
How do I contact Prof. XYZ?
- A:
Check the phone and email lists.
- Q:
Is there a department FAQ, not just ESM?
- A:
Yep, check out the FAQ.
Q: How do I pick my defense committee?
A: Talk to your advisor and the GPD. For a masters,
you need two faculty members and one outsider. The outsider
should have relevant experience in your field of interest.
Please note that, "outsiders" with adjunct appointments
are NOT "outsiders".....they are insiders!
Every student should provided the name, title, department and
college/university/academic research organization for every
outside member of a dissertation committee, along with a two
or three sentence statement concerning their relevant expertise.
If the outside member is not affiliated with an academic
organization, a CV must be provided.
