Re-matriculation Jan. 14 Last day undergraduates can re-matriculate for the Spring 2005 semester.
Non-matrics Jan. 17 OPEN ENROLLMENT begins for Undergraduate Non-matriculatedstudents (U0).
Credit Limit Jan. 21 UNDERGRADUATE: Credit limit will be raised to 19 credits.
Semester Start Jan. 24 First Day of Classes. This includes Stony Brook West Campus, SPD Online (Electronic Extension Program/EEP), SUNY Learning Net courses offered through SBU, and Manhattan Campus.
Late Registration Jan. 24 ALL STUDENTS:Late Registration begins. $40 fee applies to all students who are not enrolled in at least one course beforeJan. 24. This includes students enrolling in SPD, EEP, Manhattan and West Campus classes
(“I”) Removal Jan. 24 GRADUATE(non-SPD & non-HSC):Last day for removal of Incomplete grades from the Fall 2004 term
Adding Classes Jan. 26 SPD Students: Last day to add SPD - Online classes (EEP)
Senior Auditing Jan. 28 Senior Auditing Program registration and start of program. Call 631.632.7063 for more information.
Drop, Withdraw Jan. 30 (Sun) Last day to drop a class or withdraw from the university without tuition liability. Must be done
via Solar System, as service offices are closed on weekends. Semester withdrawal for ONLY
Undergraduatesmay be faxed (631) 632-9491. Withdrawal will be processed based on date
fax received.
SPDstudents are able to drop down to zero credits via the Solar System.
Graduate students must contact the Graduate School to complete appropriate paperwork.
Drop, Withdraw Feb. 4 ALL STUDENTS:Last day to drop or withdraw from the university without a “W” (withdraw) recorded on student record. Tuition liability remains applicable.
G5 Advancement Feb. 4 GRADUATE (non-SPD):Last day for departments to advance doctoral students to candidacy (G5 Status)
Swap Feb. 4 UNDERGRADUATE:Last day for students to process a swap. Tuition Liability may apply if student reduces credit load (Jan. 31- Feb 6 - 30% liability).
Adding Classes Feb. 4 UNDERGRADUATE:Last day to add classes. End of late registration.
Full-time Status Feb. 4 UNDERGRADUATE:Last day to change status to or from full-time or part-time status
Application for Graduation Feb. 7 Last day for Spring (May) or Summer (August) degree candidates to apply for graduation. Candidates should apply in the appropriate office. West Campus Graduate students apply at
the Graduate School or on-line: HSC students apply at the HSC Student Service Office.

Applications will only be accepted for Senior (U4) who have completed (posted to their records) at least 102 (or greater) credits.
Swaps Feb. 4 GRADUATE and SPD: Last day to process a swap “without a petition”. (see definition of “Swaps’ above. From Feb. 5 -11 )
Swaps Feb. 5 -11 GRADUATE and SPD:Feb. 5 -11, For swaps between these dates, Graduate and SPD students must petition to the respective School. If student reduces credit load after Jan 30, tuition liability will apply.
Adding Classes Feb. 11 GRADUATE and SPD: Last day to add classes (excluding SPD Online/ EEP classes - see Jan. 26). End of late registration.

Drop-downMove-up / Mar. 18 Last day to process a drop-down or move-up for selected PHY, MAT, and MAP courses. Students must have signed form with instructor approval.
Spring Recess Mar. 21-27 Spring Recess: (Mon – Sunday) – Classes will resume, Monday, March 28th .
Section Changes/ Apr. 1 ALL STUDENTS:Last day for all students to process a Section Change or Credit Change for
Credit Changes an existing enrolled course. Form with appropriate signatures required for processing.

Pass / No Credit Apr. 1 UNDERGRADUATE:Last day to change a class to or from the Pass/No Credit (P/NC) option for Spring 2005. All changes must be processed by the close of business. Full-time students are limited to 8.0 credits of P/NC and part-time students are limited to 4.0 credits of P/NC. NOTE: STUDENTS WHO EXCEED these limits, the P/NC option will be administratively removed for the last course(s) for which the P/NC option was selected. NOTE: there is NO petition processto change a class to or from the P/NC option after the deadline.
Dropping classes Apr. 1 UNDERGRADUATE:Last day to drop a course. (“W” will be recorded). Full-time students must remain full-time with a minimum of twelve (12.0) credits.

Classes End May 7 (Sat) Last day of class for any courses that are held on Saturdays.
University Withdrawal May 9 GRADUATE (non-SPD):Last day to withdraw from the University. A petition to the Graduate School is required.
