Registration and payment(or proper deferral) of fees continues for students not
previously registered.

Classes begin.
Late registration begins with a $30 late fee assessed.

Senior Citizen Auditor Program registration.

Last day to drop a course without tuition liability.

End of late registration period for undergraduates and SPD/GSP graduate students.
Last day for undergraduates and SPD/GSP students to add a course.
Last day for all Students to drop a course without a W (withdrawal) being recorded.
Last day for undergraduate students to change status to or from full-time/part-time.

Last day for May,June,July, and August degree candidates to file for graduation in
order to be fully inculded in the May commencement ceremony to be held Sunday,
May 17.
Candidates should file at the following locations: West Campus undergraduates at
Student Services Counter in the Administration Building, Graduate Students at the
Graduate School, and SPD students at the SPD Office.

Last day for graduate students (Except SPD/GSP) G1-G5's to add or drop a course.

Last day for removal of Incomplete grades from the fall semester. Last day for
undergraduates to withdraw from the University and still be eligible to return next
summer. Last day for SPD/GSP Students to withdraw from one or all courses.
Mid-semester advisory grades are due from academic departments.

Mid-semester advisory grades mailed to U1 and U2 students in 100-level and
200-level courses.

instructions will be announced prior to registration.) The Registration Schedule will be
available on the Stony Brook Home Page in advance of the class schedule.

Current students, if necessary, may register In-Person for fall and summer session.

Last day for undergraduates to withdraw from a course or change a course to or from
Pass/No Credit.
Apr. 29,Wed.
Telephone registration begins for new students, visiting students, and returning
students. As of May 6th if necessary, these student may register In-Person for the
summer session.

Last day of classes for courses held on Saturdays
May 5,Tues.
Last day of classes for Monday-Friday course offerings. Last day to withdraw from
the University, (SPD/GSP students must have SPD approval:see March 13 above.)

Final examinations begin. Saturday courses will hold their finals on Saturday, May 9th
during the regular class time.

Final examinations end. Spring semester ends. Last day for departments to submit
completion statements for May master's and doctoral degree candidates.

Commencement.
Health Technology and Management (undergraduate) and Basic Sciences, Medicine, Dental Medicine students see HSC
academic calendar for Spring 1998 classes to begin and modular dates.
