Late Registration

ALL STUDENTS: Late Registration begins. $40 fee applies to all students who are not enrolled in at least one course before August 29. This includes students enrolling in SPD, EEP, Manhattan & West Campus classes.

(“I”) Removal

GRADUATE (non-SPD & non-HSC): Last day for removal of Incomplete grades from the Spring and Summer 2005 term.

Adding Classes (EEP)

SPD STUDENTS:  Last day to add SPD -  Online classes (EEP)

Waitlist Deadline “for EEP Courses Only”

Last day students can place themselves on a waitlist for an EEP Course.  Reminder:  Students, who place themselves on a waitlist and change their intent to register, MUST DROP themselves from the Waitlist.  If students are registered from the waitlist, students are responsible for any Tuition Liability incurred.

Business Offices CLOSED

Last day to drop a class or withdraw from the university “without tuition liability.”   Dropping courses must be done via Solar System, as service offices are closed on weekends.  

Semester withdrawal for (ONLY) Undergraduates may be faxed to (631) 632-9491.  Withdrawal will be processed based on date fax received.  Mailed request must be “postmarked 9/4/05.” 

SPD Students are able to drop down to zero credits via the Solar System. 

Graduate students must contact the Graduate School to complete appropriate paperwork PRIOR to this deadline to avoid tuition liability.

G5 Advancement

ALL STUDENTS:  Last day for December Degree Candidates to apply for graduation. Candidates should apply in the appropriate office.

GRADUATE (non-SPD) and HSC:  Apply online www.grad.sunysb.edu/ (Go to Applying for Graduation.)

SPD:  Apply online www.stonybrook.edu/spd  (Go to Online Forms.)

Undergraduates:    Last day for December degree candidates to apply for graduation. West Campus Undergraduates must apply at the Registrar’s Office.  Applications will only be accepted for Senior (U4) who have completed (posted to their records) and have in-progress courses that equal minimally 102 (or greater) credits.  Students can apply through SOLAR. .  Look for the link “Apply to Graduate”.   This link will only be available in SOLAR to students who meet this criteria

Swaps (Graduate Students Only)

GRADUATE and SPD: Sep. 13-19, For swaps between these dates, Graduate and SPD students must petition to the respective School. If student reduces credit load after Sep. 4, tuition liability will apply.

ALL STUDENTS: Last day for all students to process a Section Change or Credit Change for an existing enrolled course.  Form with appropriate signatures required for processing.  Petition required after this date.

Pass / No Credit

UNDERGRADUATE: Last day to change a class to or from the Pass/No Credit (P/NC) option for Fall 2005. All changes must be processed by the close of business day. Full-time students are limited to 8.0 credits of P/NC and part-time students are limited to 4.0 credits of P/NC.   NOTE: STUDENTS WHO EXCEED these limits, the P/NC option will be administratively removed for the last course(s) for which the P/NC option was selected.  NOTE: There is NO petition process to change a class to or from the P/NC option after the deadline.

Dropping Classes
