How to get around the campus (local map)
Ferry from Bridgeport:
0) Coming off the boat, make a right onto Route-25A
1) Go pass the light by the boat-yard and up the hill
2) 25A will wind through the village of Setauket
3) You will go a couple of miles then head down a large hill
4) Make a left at the second light (Nicolls Road Rt97)
5) Make the immediate right into the "North Entrance" of campus
6) At the top of the entrance-hill, make a right onto "North Circle"
7) Drive pass the railroad, atheletic fields, parking, etc....
7.5) Pass "Kelly Quad"
8) Go through the "Campus Drive" stop sign
7.5) Pass "Roosevelt Quad"
9) Make a left at the "Engineering Drive" stop sign
10) Jump to instruction "9" below
Driving from NY City:
0) Take 495 (Long Island Expressway - LIE) to exit 62
1) come up Nicolls Road (Rt97) from the south for 8 miles,
which is a double-lane divided highway
2) make a left-hand turn (using one of two
of the left-turning lanes) into campus
at the "South" entrance
3) go pass the Dental School using "Marburger Drive"
4) make a right-hand turn at "Forest Drive" and pass "South Campus"
5) at the "South Circle" - "North Circle" split, veer to the left ("North Circle")
6) there is an immediate stop sign at "Tabler Quad"
7) go to the next stop sign, and make a
right-hand turn on to "Engineering Drive"
8) pass Heavy Engineering on your left and go to the end of the loop
9) The Student Activites Center SAC) is at the end of the loop
10) follow the loop around to the left,
our building is on the right
10.5) it is called "Engineering" or "Old Engineering"
10.75) it is three stories tall and made of red-brick
11) there is limited parking for visitors there
12) if you cannot get parking there, then go to the
back of Heavy Engineering
13) if you cannot get parking there, then go back out
and make a right back onto "North Circle"
14) then make a right at the stop sign onto "Campus Drive"
15) make the immediate left onto "Center Drive"
16) make the immediate right in to the large parking lot
17) park near the front
18) walk pass "Earth Space Science", "Computing Center",
"Light Engineering", "Heavy Engineering", and the
next building is "Old Engineering"
19) The main office is on the third floor in room 314
